Jana Kubánková(born 1988)  is a violinist, free artist and coach. Her artistic focus is contemporary music, free improvisation and trans-disciplinary work.
She graduated in violin from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 2012. She also gained a full scholarship to study violin at Meadowmount School of Music in NY, USA in 2006, 2007 and 2008. She appeared as a soloist with eminent Czech orchestras such as Prague Philharmonia or Prague Chamber Orchestra. During her early studies, she received many awards and performed at Czech Radio life concerts. At the age of twenty, Jana became a violinist in the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. She joined the orchestra on tours throughout the world and cooperated with many world-known conductors. Jana also took an important part in arranging and coaching many educational projects within the Czech Philharmonic. In 2017, Jana left the orchestra to get artistic freedom and time for her own projects.

As performer, since 2017 she has appeared as a concertmaster and soloist of the Berg Orchestra where she premiered many international and Czech contemporary works. She gives recitals in Czechia, Europe and USA. She also creates for her own musical language through free improvisation and trans-disciplinary work.

In 2019, Jana co-founded international artistic group Colture Company – a group of actors, dancers, painters and musicians who want to provide life and complex insight by their artistic performance. We focus on social and geo-political issues, mostly questioning human freedom and dignity, multicultural relationships and environment. She appears as a performer, co-author of concepts and co-producer of the group. 

Jana founded an educational project for students of art and professionals called Psychosomatics of instrumental playing and performance. Within this method, she leads the students to body-mind approach in learning and performing process, based on her own training in motion-, art- therapy techniques, philosophy and holistic approach, which she had undertaken in studies and training between 2012 – 2017.  Jana is leading workshops mostly within Czechia, Slovakia and additionaly at Meadowmount School of Music in USA, since 2018.

In 2017, Jana founded artistic non-profit organization IMUZA as a platform where she joins artists from various artistic fields, amateur artists with professionals in educational work, and creates concert opportunities for young performers. She organizes artistic events for wide public and children in her homeland to support cultural growth of this area.

Since 2019, Jana appears as publicist for cultural revue The New Presence.
